Wręczając to wyróżnienie, ks. biskup zwrócił uwagę na jego dynamiczną obecność w duszpasterstwie diecezjalnym oraz w strukturach krajowych. Podziękował również za jego długoletnią pracę jako nauczyciela akademickiego oraz liczne publikacje.

Szczególnie jednak ordynariusz pelpliński podkreślił jego kapłańską posługę jako proboszcza parafii pw. św. Józefa, w której wzrasta zaangażowanie laikatu w sprawy Kościoła, zwłaszcza w pracy charytatywnej i liturgii oraz w trosce o stan materialny zaplecza duszpasterskiego. Ks. biskup podziękował parafianom za odnowienie kościoła oraz rozbudowę plebani w bardzo potrzebne we współczesnym duszpasterstwie pomieszczenia. Dziękując biskupowi za to wyróżnienie, ks. prałat Antoni Dunajski powiedział, że jego radość będzie pełna, gdy poczują się przy tej okazji uhonorowani parafianie, wśród których, dla których i z którymi jako kapłan pracuje.
Kapituła Katedralna jest jedną z czterech, obok Kamieńskiej (erygowanej w 1964 r.), Kartuskiej (od 1992 r.) i Koronowskiej (od 2000 r.), kapituł w Diecezji Pelplińskiej.
Ks. prałat Antoni Dunajski – urodził się 3 listopada 1947 r. w Grucie k. Grudziądza. Studia seminaryjne ukończył przyjęciem święceń kapłańskich w Pelplinie w 1972 r. Od 1980 r. jest pracownikiem naukowo-dydaktycznym Wyższego Seminarium Duchownego w Pelplinie. W 1989 r. został mianowany kapelanem honorowym papieża Jana Pawła II. Od 1 stycznia 1992 r. pełni obowiązki proboszcza parafii pw. św. Józefa. Jest asystentem kościelnym „Pielgrzyma”, a także autorem ok. 1000 artykułów publicystycznych w różnych czasopismach katolickich oraz sześciu książek (m.in. o poezji Cypriana Kamila Norwida).
